Winslow shooting injures one man

At approximately 10:06 p.m. on Saturday, May 13, Winslow police were called to the 900 block of North Kinsley where shots had reportedly been fired.

According to a statement from Lieutenant Ken Arend, “Early investigation revealed that a physical altercation occurred involving three individuals and a resident.” During the altercation a firearm was discharged, striking 42-year-old Michael Padilla.

Witnesses provided first aid to Padilla until medical personnel arrived. He was transported to Little Colorado Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries and was later flown to a medical facility in the Phoenix area.

“All parties involved have been contacted by Winslow police and no charges have been filed at this time,” reported Arend, who added that it remains an ongoing investigation and charges may be filed at a later date.
