William Larry “Billy” Baca passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, in Pinetop. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 24, at Porter Mountain Fellowship, 1790 W. Commerce Drive in Lakeside. A potluck reception will be held following the service at Annie Flores’ home, 207 W. Pine Oak Lane in Pinetop-Lakeside.
He was born June 8, 1952, in McNary.
Billy Baca Sr. served in the Army from 1972-78. He also served in the National Guard for over a year. He fought for his country in the Vietnam War.
He was well liked and truly loved by family and friends. He made everyone laugh and was literally the life of the party.
Billy was the youngest of 13 children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan & Inez Baca; four sisters, Otsy Garcia, Sally Sasser, Francis Salas and Martha Talavera; and a brother, Danny Baca.
Survivors include two brothers, Tony Baca of Winslow and Leroy Baca of Mesa; five sisters, Velma Garcia of Lakeside, Sadie Carillo of Flagstaff, Pat Baca of Lakeside, Annie Flores of Pinetop and Arlene Rojas of Pinetop. He also has two children, Susie Baca (David) and Billy Baca Jr. (Leah). Billy Sr. was also a father to his great-niece, Monica Sandoval. His grandchildren are Jayden Clayton (Gregg Tyler Aldrage), Billy Baca III (Tray) and Isabella Baca; and he has a great-granddaughter.
Owens Livingston Mortuary of Show Low was in charge of the arrangements.
