The Bulldogs fall to the Yellowjackets, 78-66

The Blue Ridge Yellowjackets defeated the Winslow Bulldogs, 78-66 at Pinetop on Friday. The win improved Blue Ridge’s record to an excellent 17-1 and dropped Winslow to a 11-5 mark for the season.

The Yellowjackets led 21-13 after the first quarter and 47-24 at the half. The margin was a commanding 60-42 going into the final period. Mason Berges led all scorers with 31 points for the Yellowjackets. Corey Endfield with 27 points and Darrien Burnette with 10 points also hit double figures for Blue Ridge.

Darius James led Winslow with 20 points. Yoann Djassa was also in double figures for the Bulldogs with 17 points.

The Bulldogs were to host the Payson Longhorns on Tuesday and go to Holbrook to meet the Roadrunners on Thursday. They will host the Show Low Cougars on Tuesday, Jan. 16, then go to Tuba City to meet the Warriors on Wednesday in the first on four straight road games.

The other games are at Snowflake on Friday, Jan. 19, at Page on Thursday, Jan. 25 and at Payson on Friday, Jan. 26.

The last two games of the January portion of the schedule will be played in Winslow against the Holbrook Roadrunners on Tuesday, Jan. 30, and against the Blue Ridge Yellowjackets on Wednesday, Jan. 31.
