Seth Eldred Saline passed away on Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017, in Mesa, with his family around him.
A viewing will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 3, at McDougal’s Caldwell Funeral Chapel in Safford, followed by a graveside service at 10 a.m. at the Pima Cemetery.
He was born April 21, 1942, in Pima to Eldred Eliga and Elna Peck Saline.
Seth grew up in Pima, working many jobs to be able to pay for and rebuild old cars to drive and race around the Gila Valley!
He graduated from Pima High School, where he played football and basketball, and met his high school sweetheart Gail Joyce Taylor. They married on April 6, 1962, in Pima, and were sealed for all eternity in the Mesa Arizona Temple on May 5, 1968. Seth and Joyce added to their family four children, Sherli Joy, Seth Eldred II, Shon Don and Shelby Lee. He moved his family to Snowflake in 1964, where he worked as a pipefitter for 43 years before retiring.
Seth loved to be outside hunting, fishing, hiking and camping. He would walk or drive all the back roads of Arizona with his maps and metal detector looking for his millions!
He also loved spending time with his family. He attended many sporting events that his children and grandchildren played in. You would always find Seth with a camera or video camera in his hand taking pictures and videos of any unsuspecting family member! He was a quiet, humble man who loved his family and taught them to have a strong foundation, be respectful and work hard at the goals they set for themselves.
Seth leaves behind his loving wife of 55 years, Gail Joyce Taylor-Saline; two daughters, Sherli Skinner (Ed) and Shelby Holt; two sons, Seth (Theresa) and Shon (Holley); 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Diana Hunt (Milo) and Nancy Saline; one brother, Eddy Saline; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eldred and Elna Saline; and his younger brother, Donald Rex Saline.
