The annual inductions into the Taylor Hall of Fame caught members of one family off guard.

During the July 4 Patriotic Program, Mayor David Smith first inducted the late Larry and Roberta Muder into the Hall of Fame. He noted that they were hard working, patriotic and the first to volunteer. The Muders’ volunteered many hours to church camps, community activities and events, and instilled in their children the importance of volunteering and being part of the community.

Their son Vance and his wife Michelle were present to accept the honor, and were caught by surprise as the mayor announced that they would also be inducted.

Smith recounted the many callings Michelle had and her many years of working with the elections. Vance served on the Special Events Committee and the irrigation board, and as bishop, and was one of the first wise men at the Taylor Live Nativity.
