Lady Lobos remain No. 1 in 3A volleyball rankings

A tough week lies ahead for the top ranked Snowflake Lady Lobo volleyball squad. The Lobos will put their unbeaten streak on the line twice in top four match ups this week.  After playing at No. 3 Blue Ridge on Tuesday, they will make a visit to No. 4 Monument Valley on Saturday, Oct. 14.  In between those two matches, they will travel to Winslow today (Oct. 11).

Snowflake picked up a pair of easy victories last week with 3-0 wins at Holbrook on Tuesday and at home against Show Low on Thursday.

In the Holbrook match Snowflake won 25-16, 25-18 and 25-16.

Erin Willis led in kills with 14, followed by Chandler Johnson with eight. Katlyn Papa, Johnson and Chloe Lyman each served two aces. Makayla Ramage dominated the defense with 29 digs in the win. Papa had 16 assists, Jaylee Powers had 13 and Janessa Elkins finished with 10 assists.

The Lobos’ home court win over Show Low was even more impressive with scores of 25-13, 25-15 and 25-19.

Willis led in kills with 11. Sydney Bauer and Johnson each had one ace. Lauren Hunt led with five blocks, followed by Willis with four. Ramage finished with 17 digs. Papa had 15 assists and Powers added 12.

Snowflake is currently 10-0 in regular season matches.
