Lady Lobos keep record perfect with wins over Window Rock and Thatcher

Snowflake improved to 4-0 in regular season matches last week with wins over Window Rock on Wednesday and Thatcher on Thursday.

Playing in Window Rock, the Lady Lobos won the first game 25-18, took the second 25-16 and closed out the match by winning game three 25-23.

Erin Willis had a big match, leading the team with 19 kills. Lauren Hunt added eight; Chandler Johnson, six; and Alyssa Brinkerhoff and Chloe Lyman, three each.

Janessa Elkins served seven aces to lead the team. Makayla Ramage added two, while Katlyn Papa, Willis and Johnson each served one.

Ramage led the unit in digs with 31. Sydney Bauer had six; Papa and Jaylee Powers, four each; Johnson and Claire Christensen, three each; Elkins and Lanee Penrod, two each; and Willis and Shaylee Chapman, one each.

Powers led the way in assists with 16, followed by Papa with 15 and Elkins with nine.

The Lobos will host Tuba City today (Sept. 13), then the Snowflake Invitational this weekend. They are slated to face Piñon, Round Valley and Window Rock in pool play on Friday, Sept. 15. Saturday’s action will be determined by pool play results.
