The Holbrook Lady Roadrunners’ up and down season continued last week with a 3-0 home court loss to Snowflake on Tuesday followed by a 3-0 road win at Winslow the following night. Thus far, this season, excluding tournaments, the Lady Roadrunners have not had anything more than a two-game winning or losing streak. In fact they have only lost two in a row on three occasions, and have won two in a row just one time. If they can pick up a home court win over Payson on Tuesday, they would have their second two-match winning streak.
After hosting the Longhorns on Tuesday, Holbrook will have a week off before playing at Show Low on Oct. 17.
The Roadrunners headed into this week ranked 14th in the 3A rankings with a regular season record of 6-7 with five matches remaining. Payson could be pivotal in Holbrook’s post-season success, with the 18th ranked team facing Holbrook twice in those five matches. Top ranked Snowflake, No. 17 Show Low and No. 26 Winslow round out the regular season schedule for Holbrook.
