Surrounded by her family, Estelle Hall, 86, died peacefully at her home on Tuesday, May 2, 2017. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, May 8, at Owens Livingston Mortuary-White Mountain Chapel, 320 N. Ninth St. in Show Low, Arizona. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 9, at the Downtown Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 300 N. 11th St. in Show Low where additional visitation will begin one hour prior. The concluding service and interment will immediately follow at the Show Low Cemetery.
She was born on a Thursday, March 12, 1931, in Standard, Ariz. Her parents were the late William and Rebecca Pettyjohn.
Estelle met, and later, married her forever sweetheart, Lafayette “Lafe” Hall on Dec. 13, 1947. This coming December, the couple would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary together.
She was a lifelong member of the LDS church and, within it, served in many capacities. She was also a pioneer for the Show Low Little League and, more than anything, loved to watch her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids play ball over the years.
Estelle was known for her generosity and compassion for others in need. She will be greatly missed by all.
Survivors include her husband, Lafe Hall of Show Low; six children, Eddie (Judy) Hall of Show Low, George (Dawn) Hall of Show Low, Becky (John Sr., deceased) Leech of Show Low, Kenneth (Skeeter) Hall of Eagar, Steve (Cindi) Hall of Show Low and Dale (Jacque) Hall of Vinita, Okla.; 22 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; and four siblings, Coy (Nelda) Pettyjohn of Henderson, Nev., Joan (Phil) Means of Phoenix, Juanita (O’Dell) Reidhead of Show Low and Ernest (Susan) Pettyjohn of Taylor.
Along with her parents and son-in-law, Estelle was preceded in death by her sister, Jeneva Ball; seven brothers, William Pettyjohn, Harold Pettyjohn, Leroy Pettyjohn, Luther Pettyjohn, Travis Pettyjohn, Douglas Pettyjohn and Danny Pettyjohn; and one grandson, Lafe Edward Hall Jr.
