Celebration Run draws 55 athletes

The 2017 Taylor July 4th Celebration Run drew 55 participants. The weather was great and everyone enjoyed the fun. The run categories included a two-mile run or walk, and a 10K run. Each category had a men’s and women’s division, with awards given for overall winners and age group winners.

The overall winners in the women’s two-mile run included Stella Udall, first with a time of 15:44; Brettleigh Wilson, second in 15:54; and Jamie Esperson, third in 15:59. In the men’s division, Jon Smith placed first with a time of 12:02; Mason Willis, second in 12:41; and Devin Willis, third in 13:42.

First place winners in their respective age categories were Lanie Hancock, Emmy Esperson, Brettleigh Wilson, Stella Udall, Jamie Esperson, Doreen Gatway, Beckett Bailey, Kaden Clark, Jon Smith, JD McCray, Ray Aguilar and Ray Hancock.

The overall winners in the women’s 10K run included Lora Jones, first with a time of 48:34; Brynn Nichols, second in 51:31; and Cyndee Nichols, third in 51:47. In the men’s division, Bryce Palmer placed first with a time of 40:35; Mitchell Udall, second in 41:40; and Jake Hatch, third in 44:45.

First place winners in their respective age categories were Brynn Nichols, Malia Reddick, Lora Jones, Cyndee Nichols and Laura Williams.
