Cameron Baldwin runner up at state wrestling meet

Five Wildcat wrestlers qualified for the Division IV state wrestling meet held in Prescott over the weekend. Of those Joseph City grapplers, Cameron Baldwin placed the highest finishing as the state runner up in the 138-pound weight class with an overall state meet record of 3-1. Trey Tuckfield competing in the 132-pound class went 4-2, good enough for a fifth place finish. Eligh Ashcroft went 2-2 in the 145-pound class but did not place. Also competing but not placing were Ethan Hansen in the 120-pound class and Joseph Burt in the 126-pound class with each wrestler going 0-2 at the meet.

St. Johns took the team title with 171.5 points. Morenci placed second with 146.5, and Camp Verde was third with 138.5. Joseph City finished in 17th position with 44 team points.
