Cade Maestas is named top 3A player in state

By Greg Perkins

Cade Maestas has been named the 3A Conference Baseball Player of the Year. Maestas helped lead the Holbrook Roadrunners to a 23-6 overall record and the top seed in the recently completed state tournament. Holbrook was upset by Empire in the first round, but that didn’t take away from a solid year for the team.

Tristan Baldonado and Cole McDaniel, both of Holbrook, were selected to the First Team All Conference.  Blue Ridge’s Iram Macias was the only other East Region member selected for first team.

Second Team All Conference Honors went to Dylan Ervien and Tarren Reidhead of Snowflake. Payson, despite winning the East Region regular season title, only had two players selected to Second Team All Conference, Hunter Paul and Nate McMullen.

Honorable Mention All Conference selections were Daniel Vizcaya of Winslow, Seth Chavez of Blue Ridge, and Jake Beeler and Ryan Ricke, both of Payson.
