Alvie Rose Holt
Alvie Rose Holt passed away on Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017, in Show Low.
Funeral services were held Oct. 3 at Owens Livingston Mortuary-Heritage Chapel in Snowflake. Burial will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 4, at the Mountain View Cemetery in Lordsburg, N.M.
She was born July 24, 1928, in Buckeye to Daniel and Maud Clark Roseberry.
Alvie was a strong, hard working woman. She was raising her eight children when she returned to school to get a college degree, which was no easy task! She taught first and third grades from 1968-1992.
She had many talents. She sewed her sons’ western shirts, as well as all of her daughters’ clothing as they were growing up. For many years she crocheted little hats for the preemie babies in the hospital.
Alvie was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served in the Primary and Relief Society. She also loved to attend the temple on a weekly basis.
Survivors include her husband, Leo Holt of Taylor; five sons, H. Marvin Cooper of San Simon, Stan C. Cooper of Westminster, Colo., P. Jeffery Cooper of Mesa, Richard H. Cooper of Mesa and Kirk W. Cooper of Longview, Wash.; two daughters, Debby Noble of Gardnerville, Nev., and Dorothy Banes of Skiatook, Okla.; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Norman B. Cooper, as well as her first husband, Howard Marvin Cooper.
